They are compounds derived from Phosphorous Acid.
Phosphorous Acid (H3PO3) acts as an elicitor of phytoalexins, producing it even without the phytopathogen being present.
Phytoalexins are phenolic compounds produced by the plant, activating the defense system in response to the attack of fungi
and bacteria, phytotoxicity of chemical agents, mechanical damage and stress. Its application can produce parthenocarpic
fruits.
